A really nice place to stop on our drive into the redwoods. A really busy beach, with lots of campers set up. The weather was really chilly in July so come prepared!
Nice. Clean. Big
What a great place to come and walk after you've eaten at the local restaurants. Beach is clean and not too populated. Water is cold. Kids playing in the background, men on paddle boats, waves crashing. Fog dissipating from morning mist. Awesome
Next time I plan to get her earlier and enjoy the day. Such a lovely beach and looking south to where the mountains disappear on the horizon, it made me feel so far from home.
During part of our summer road trip from Tigard, Oregon down and around through Northern California we stayed at the Quality Inn and Suites in Crescent City.
What’s great is that it is a very short drive from both the hotel and the Harbor District (both of which I have also reviewed) to South Beach.
We took our furry-family there to stretch his legs and so our children could look for sea shells.
It’s a really nice open clean beach that extends really far. It’s a place you can chat with really friendly people and maybe catch a beautiful sunset.
Brings back old times has been 30 years since I've roamed these Woods no just as beautiful and smell just as great as you can imagine
Loved the beach, loved the waves, not crowded but it could have been due to it being a Thurs afternoon & fog all around. It was pretty neat! We walked the beach for a while picking up shells & found a few sand dollars. And we loved seeing the sea lions in the harbor across from the beach
Beautiful and tranquil... a must see. Be sure to bring a light long sleeve jacket at least n July 😉 …
